Wells Fargo Wagon didn't Come!!

My all too brief visit to Charles Town comes to an end in two hours.  My primary reason for the visit was to close on the refi and that didn’t happen. Not only did it not happen, I’ve not heard a word from anyone involved despite my calls and emails. Very frustrating and very disappointing, I expect more from Charles Town.

I spent the morning cleaning the deck, putting away teak furniture and generally winterizing the yard.  I’ve much more to do on my October visit, but I’m off to a good start.  My muscles are aching from lifting and hauling.  I took the tarp off the gazebo frame, which required being on a stepladder.  The Stink Bugs had made nests in the tarp and when I disturbed them, they came flying out and into my face, down my shirt and shorts and bouncing off my sunglasses.  I hate Stink Bugs!

Olga and the kids came over for cocktails last night. I made them one of their favorite dishes, a salad caprese, using lots of my fresh basil.  I served it with bread sticks, crudités, dip and almonds.  Always interesting to hear what the kids have to say about things.  I was too tired to cook or eat after they left so I just had a glass of wine and went up stairs to read for an hour.  Slept like a log for seven uninterrupted hours and felt like a million bucks this morning.  Had a great walk and said my temporary goodbyes to the birds and deer in the meadow.

Got all the stuff into two suitcases. Now I just have to pack a third suitcase for my meetings in Phoenix. I’ll leave the two big cases at the hotel and pick them up on Sunday when I arrive back from Phoenix.  Happy to be on the downslide of the trip. Miss Cindy something terrible and I know that Moscow still has some secrets for me to discover.

Since I noticed that my pants were getting a bit loose, I decided to step on the scale this morning. I had to get on twice to believe it.  Seems I’ve lost about fourteen pounds since departing for Moscow.  It has to be the walking and the fact that Moscow excites me as opposed to depressing Bahrain.  I certainly haven’t cut back on food or drink, although on this trip I have since there is no one to eat or drink with here in Charles Town.

Ok, lots to do in the next two hours so this is over and out.  Ciao, Wm

PS: Happy Birthdays, Fast Eddie and Lynn.
